Chocolate Twists

Ingredients

milk  egg yolks sugar flour cornstarch butter  vanilla extract puff pastry  chocolate chips

STEP 1

Heat the milk in a pot. In the meantime, whisk the egg yolks and sugar in a bowl until combined.

STEP 2

Mix the flour and cornstarch together and add to the egg mixture. Whisk to combine.

STEP 3

Gradually pour the hot milk over the mixture, whisking constantly.

STEP 4

Return to the pot and bring to a boil over medium heat.

STEP 5

Keep boiling for 2 minutes then remove from the heat and whisk in the butter and vanilla extract.

STEP 6

Cool down then spread on the bottom half of a puff pastry sheet. Sprinkle with chocolate chips.

STEP 7

Fold the top half of the puff pastry over the bottom half.

STEP 8

Cut the puff pastry into evenly sized strips then holding the edges of the strip twist twice.

STEP 9

Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush with egg wash and bake until golden.

 Enjoy!

For a quicker version, you can replace the pastry cream with chocolate hazelnut spread.
